Just three bits of potentially interesting Santa Barbara food news, especially for you yoga-minded peeps.
Food News Item #1: (re-posted from SantaBarbara.com): ”A new late-night restaurant named ‘QuesaDilla Rilla‘ is coming to the downtown area. They will be open until 4am and offer a variety of popular and specialty quesadillas (with salsa) including the ‘sprouted soy cheese adilla.’ Other menu options include chocolate-dipped bananas and fresh juices. They will support the local community by using fresh, local ingredients.”
Wowza, a late-night quesadilla joint that uses fresh, local ingredients and offers a sprouted soy cheese adilla? We’re there!
Food News Item #2: We don’t have too many details about this news item, but we know that an eatery named the Hummingbird Cafe will be opening in the very near future at the corner of State and Figueroa Streets (in the location which used to house Java Jones). From what we’ve heard, this cafe’s emphasis will be on local and organic food and fair-trade coffee. Another possible yoga people hot-spot, especially for a nice post-yoga breakfast with friends!
Food News Item #3: (Also re-posted from SantaBarbara.com): ”Whole Foods market will be opening this Winter (instead of Fall) at 3761 State Street, the former home of Circuit City.”
Okay, so… Whole Foods is a large corporate chain and we are not huge proponents of supporting corporations unnecessarily. But we know that Whole Foods, with its focus on wholesome, organic products, is popular with many yoga practitioners and is therefore pertinent yoga news.
That’s it for your SB food news today. Bye now!
