Africa Calling: Nicole Muhlethaler Moves On!

Saturday, 19 May, 2007

After several years as an integral employee at Drishti, Nicole Muhlethaler is moving on! On Sunday, May 20th, Nicole will be heading to Kenya as a Peace Corps Volunteer specializing in public health and HIV/AIDS awareness education. We couldn’t be more proud of her. Nicole has always had a fascination with and strong connection to Africa, and her decision to become a Peace Corps Volunteer for the next 2+ years is the perfect “next step” for her. Nicole attended UCSB while living in Santa Barbara, graduating with a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology. She also worked on honing her excellent skills as a freelance writer, even completing the daunting project of writing not one, but two complete screenplays!

Nicole has worked at Drishti for almost as long as we can remember. She has been an essential part of Drishti’s growth and expansion as a business. She came up with many ingenious ideas for our store, ranging from the mundane (instead of cluttering the countertop with mugs, why not hang them from hooks attached to the shelf above?) to the extremely significant (we NEED to move our online order processing out of the shoebox-sized back office at Drishti and into a separate, spacious space.) Drishti wouldn’t be what it is today without the dedication of Nicole. As sad as we are that she’s leaving Santa Barbara, we are incredibly excited for her new adventure and can hardly wait to receive the updates she’ll be relaying from Kenya. We look forward to posting about her progress here, on The Drishti Blog! If you would like to share any good-byes or well-wishes with Nicole, feel free to email them to info(at)drishtiyoga(dot)com.
