We went to Deb Dobbin’s class at Yoga Soup last night, and man! There must have been 100 people there.
Okay, okay… it felt like there were 100 people there, but we took a cursory inventory count of students in attendance and it looked like there were realistically 50 or 60 of them. (Of course, we kept our eye on our drishti as we took this quick count, in case you were wondering.
) But still – 50 or 60 yoga students all packed into one room, moving and sweating to Deb’s mesmerizing voice and engaging choice of music? Can you imagine it? What a scene!
Next to Eddie Ellner (and possibly tied with Eddie Ellner, truth be told), Deb may be the most popular yoga teacher in Santa Barbara, based on her awe-inspiring numbers of students. We think that this is due to the magnetism of Deb’s persona and the dynamic, strong challenge of her yoga class. If you haven’t attended a yoga session with Deb before (and if you’ve practiced yoga for a year or more), we highly recommend her class! Just make sure that you get there early, because holy toledo does her class fill quickly to the brim.

I can only imagine. I recently bought her DVD and it is amazing. Her workouts are great. Her DVD is very challenging, but not so much so where I feel I will never get all of the poses. I hope she comes to the midwest sometime. Otherwise, if I am ever in Santa Barbara I will definitely attend her class.
