It’s Almost the End of the Year, And You Know What That Means…

Santa Barbara Yoga Center…It means, of course, that it’s almost time for Santa Barbara Yoga Center to release their new schedule of classes!  The schedule is updated every 6 months, and with each update, many of the old favorite classes stay the same (like Cheri Clampett’s Tues/Thurs 5:00pm Yoga for Healing and Anne Van de Water’s Tues/Thurs 6:30pm Level 2), but others fade away and are replaced by new ones.  What new and exciting changes, pray tell, will we see when the new schedule releases?  Well, we don’t know anything for sure, but we have caught wind of a few rumors floating around in the ethers.

One of the coolest rumors we’ve heard is that well-known, dynamic yoga instructor Arturo Peal will be on the SBYC schedule for the first time ever.  Arturo has sporadically taught at SBYC in the form of workshops and teacher trainings, but in all these years he has never held an ongoing class at this fine location.  Arturo’s specialty is gentle/restorative yoga, so his new class at SBYC will most likely be taught in this style.

Another rumor which reached our ears relayed the information that Heather Tiddens will be extending her Tues/Thurs Yin Yoga class duration.  It’s currently a meager half hour and it’s held from 4:30-5:00pm, but the time will be increasing to an hour and a half, and the class will take place from to 3:15-4:45pm.  Or so we hear.  Heather will also be offering a new free-of-charge class for Spanish-speaking people with diabetes.  We love Heather!  :)

Rumor also has it that Cybil Gilbertson will be adding a lunchtime Yoga for Core Strength class on Tues/Thurs.

Obviously, we will all learn about the exact new changes as soon as the updated schedule is released.  But still, speculation before the fact is fun, isn’t it?
